Troubleshooting
No material coming out of the gun?
If no material comes out of the gun, there may be a clogged tube (either full or partially), the gun may be blocked or the stator may be worn, so:
- Check the consistency of the mixture and modify it if necessary;
- Avoid too long stops;
- First check if the tube is clogged, otherwise check the gun, cleaning the deflector and if necessary also the gun itself;
- Check the condition of the stator and replace it with a new one if necessary.
Does the material tend to drip from the gun?
If material tends to drip from the gun, immediately check the condition of the deflector and check its size. If the deflector, or even the nozzle, is too large, leaks may occur, then proceed with replacing both with the smaller hole.
Is the gun clogged?
A crust of hardened material, a stone or a deflector with a hole that is too small in relation to the grain size of the material used can cause the gun to clog (i.e. the material does not come out).
In this case:
- Stop the machine using the main switch;
- Release the pressure in the material delivery pipes by turning the pump in reverse for a few seconds;
Always release the pressure from the pipes by turning the pump in reverse for a few seconds (5-10); before disconnecting them, they should almost be crushed when walked on
- Remove the gun and the deflector and wash everything thoroughly;
- Before reassembling the gun, make sure that the nozzle is free (if necessary, clean it with wire) and that the material comes out freely from the pipe.
If during operation the material tends to drip from the gun, try replacing the deflector and/or the nozzle with one with a smaller hole.
Is the stator worn?
A worn stator may cause the material not to come out of the gun or even cause a blockage at the beginning of the pipe due to overheating of the material.
N.B. It is necessary to replace the stator and remove the blockage if necessary.
*Always refer to the manual supplied with the machine for complete and detailed safety instructions
Is the mortar pipe bent?
The symptoms are the same as those of a clogged mortar pipe, so:
- Look for the bend in the pipe and straighten it;
- If the material in the hopper then becomes unpumpable, the hopper must be emptied by disconnecting the pipe from the pump and pumping the material out;
- If necessary, remove the hopper drain plug and wash out all the material with a jet of water, then mix the new product again and start again.
Is the mortar pipe clogged?
An incorrect mix or a prolonged stop can cause the material delivery pipe to clog, meaning that no material comes out of the gun.
In this case:
- Stop the machine using the main switch;
- Release the pressure of the material pipes by turning the pump in reverse for a few seconds;
- Identify where the pipe is clogged: at this point the pipe is hard and rigid. The most critical points are at the fittings. Then detach the clogged pipe, hit with a hammer at the end of the clog to break the "plug" that has formed until the hardened material comes out.
Start the machine for a few moments and make sure that the pipe has been freed from the "plug": the material comes out regularly. Pour some grout into the pipe where the clog occurred, reconnect the pipes and start again.
