Troubleshooting
Does the pump engine safety intervene?
If during processing, due to too high working pressure or incorrect supply voltage, the safety of the pump motor could intervene, in this case the pumping would stop.
Proceed to:
- Modify the mixture, reduce the length of the pipes or use pipes with a larger diameter;
- Have the line voltage checked.
No material coming out of the gun?
If during pumping no material comes out of the gun, it could be due to a clogged pipe (either by the material or by some crusts/stones that obstruct the passage), or due to a deflector with too small a passage.
Take action to:
- Modify the mixture;
- Stop too long, reducing the times;
- Adjust the stator correctly;
- Clean the deflector and if necessary the gun;
- Replace the deflector.
Does the material tend to drip from the gun?
If the gun deflector or nozzle has a hole that is too large for the material you are pumping, the material may start to drip from the gun.
To correct this problem: replace the gun deflector and/or nozzle with one with a small hole as soon as possible.
Clogged material pipe?
Incorrect mixing or stopping for too long can cause the material hose to clog: no material comes out of the gun and the material pressure gauge indicates a pressure higher than the normal working pressure.
Proceed to:
- Stop the pump by acting on the start/stop selector;
-
Release the pressure of the material hoses by turning the pump in reverse for a few seconds: open the air tap (3) on the gun and reverse the direction of rotation of the pump using the appropriate control;
- Try to restart
- Monitor the working pressure and stop the machine promptly if the pressure exceeds the normal value (because in this case the clog is still present);
- Close the gun air tap and release the pressure in the material hoses for a few seconds (5/10), before disconnecting it.
*The operator must have been specifically trained to perform this operation. In particular, before opening a fitting, make sure that there is no residual pressure in the pipes and that there are no other people nearby. This potentially dangerous operation must always be performed by an expert using the utmost caution.
- Stop the pump;
- Identify where the material delivery line is clogged: at this point the pipe is hard and rigid (most of the time the most critical points are at the connections);
-
Detach the clogged pipe, hit with a hammer at the clog to break the "plug" that has formed;
- Start the pump for a few moments and make sure that the pipe has been freed;
- Pour some grout into the pipe downstream of the one where the clog occurred and start again;
If the material in the hopper cannot be pumped, the hopper must be emptied!
Gun clogged?
A crust of hardened material, a stone or a deflector with a passage too small for the material used can cause the gun to clog, so:
- Release the pressure from the pipes by reversing the direction of rotation of the pump for a few moments (always release the pressure from the pipes by rotating the pump backwards for a few seconds (5/10), before disconnecting the gun. The pressure gauge indicating the pressure of the material must indicate a pressure of 0 bar);
- Stop the pump and for greater safety, turn off the machine;
- Remove the deflector, if necessary the gun and remove the cause of the clog;
- Before reassembling the deflector or the gun, make sure that the nozzle is free (clean it if necessary) and that the material flows freely from the tube.
If during operation the material reaches the gun intermittently, first check that there is material in the hopper and then check that the machine does not start and stop without reason, i.e. without any external intervention. In this second case, check that the air hose is not bent at some point or that the air nozzle is not clogged.
